Who is the Audience for This Movie?
Fans of 50’s cinema.
What I Liked About This Movie
I liked seeing a young Marlon Brando because anytime he is on the screen in this movie he IS the scene. The connection between Brando and the girl who works at the café was interesting. The opening scene was also pretty good because it introduced Johnny (Marlon Brando) the leader of the gang very well and conveyed clearly that the gang are just out to cause mischief.

What Didn’t Work For Me
To not waste too much of your time I am just going to use bullet points on this one:
- The “jive” dialogue is poorly delivered and makes the gang members sound incredibly lame.
- The acting from supporting cast is not very good.
- The preachy “Stay on the straight and narrow or you too could become a rebel” tone is not hard hitting and feels like a Saturday morning cartoon in its message delivery.
- How am I supposed to find any of the guys in this movie tough? Because they drink beer OOOOOOH.
Should You Watch This Movie?
No, it may be an iconic movie but I can honestly say it is not a good movie.
