The year is 2047 and seven years have gone by since the Event Horizon spaceship has disappeared. A new crew on a ship called “Lewis and Clark” is sent to locate the Event Horizon and investigate what happened to the ship and its crew.

What I Liked About This Movie
Event Horizon sets up a great atmosphere once the crew gets on the ship and keeps the tightly packed tense feeling throughout the film. A lot of the credit for the great atmosphere should go to the set design. The Event Horizon looks dark & evil and sells the tone of the film immediately.
Sam Neill(Jurrasic Park) & Laurence Fishburne(The Matrix) are two actors I always find interesting to watch on screen. They both work well together in this movie and were a great choice for the central characters of this movie.
What Didn’t Work For Me
This movie is interesting but relies heavily on a few sci-fi/horror setups that have been done before and done better in other movies. Just seemed like they had an interesting idea and dropped the ball when it came to making it feel unique and fresh.
The ending to this movie is ridiculous. It feels like the studio said the movie arbitrarily needed to end with some kind of bang. The ending felt flat in comparison to the good parts of this movie.
Should You Watch This Movie?
I like this movie but it is not that great. It is one of those movies I could watch on a lazy Sunday afternoon and be content with.
