In Bruges Review

After accidentally killing a small child on his first job a hitman named Ray (Colin Farrell) along with another hitman named Ken must hole up in a quaint little town named Bruges (It is in Belgium). Ray is bored with the city and ends up finding his own entertainment in the form of a woman. Meanwhile Ken gets a call from their boss and is forced to make a terrible decision.

What I Liked About This Movie

The cinematography in the city of Bruges really makes Bruges look beautiful.

What Didn’t Work For Me

Everything else. I watched this movie with a friend who also did not like it and asked another person I know if they liked. They had the same problems with this movie I did so I guess I am not alone in my opinion for once.

Why was Colin Farrell chosen for this role? He is an ok actor who has been in a few blockbusters. But after watching him tell jokes and act like a hurt dove for most of this movie it becomes blatantly obvious he could not handle the role he was given.

In Bruges Photo

Actramedy (just made that up) movies are extremely difficult to pull off due to the constant change in tones. In Bruges handles these mood switches so terribly that as a viewer you cannot really decide what you should be getting from this movie. Have you ever seen a great movie that has a dramatic scene where someone is almost killed, has two characters joking around, and then has a grown man crying?

Should You Watch This Movie?

In Bruges is a terrible movie that I would not watch if I were you.
