Who is the Audience for This Movie?
Fans of gangster movies.
What I Liked About This Movie
I saw this movie shortly after its theatrical release and was blown away by Daniel Craig’s performance. I kind of thought to myself wow this guy would play a great James Bond and was very happy to find out shortly after seeing this movie that he was in fact playing Bond in the franchise reboot “Casino Royale”.

But the editing is really the star of this movie. Scenes are fairly briefly cut and just continue to keep you interested and wanting to know what happens next throughout the entire movie. The scene transitions they use involving Danial Craig’s eyes are absolutely perfect.
Since I do like to keep things brief I will just say that this is by far one of the best British gangster movies I have ever seen.
What Didn’t Work For Me
The accents in this movie are very thick and hard to understand at times. I have seen the actor who plays “The Duke” in other movies and it is apparent that accents were intentionally laid on thicker then usual in this movie. Staying on the topic of “The Duke” I thought he was a very annoying character and the actor definitely overplayed the role.
Should You Watch This Movie?
I would whole heartedly recommend you watch Layer Cake.
