Who is the Audience for This Movie?
Anyone who likes family friendly animated movies.
What I Liked About This Movie
The Jungle Book has some great catchy songs; Disney never disappoints with its kid oriented songs in their animated features. The animation and art style some would say looks dated but I like the rough pencil lined style of the characters and the animation still holds up after all these years.

Baloo the bear is without question the star of this movie. His song is classic (The Bear Necessities) and when he finally appears in the movie it suddenly gets a lot more entertaining. The voice for Baloo was perfect and he played off of Mowgli so well.
What Didn’t Work For Me
The Jungle Book comes off more strange then charming at times due to its moral compass. The entire purpose of the movie is to get the boy out of the jungle because he does not fit it in and should be with his own kind, yikes. Maybe I am looking too deeply at this movie but I cannot help but feel the movie has segregation undertones.
I cannot believe I am saying this but some of the voice work in the Jungle Book is kind of weak. Disney has never let me down when it comes to voice work but some of the voices do not fit the characters. Disney films are known for strange characters but the characterizations seem mean spirited instead of being menacing in a childlike way.
Why is that the ape king happens to be a stereotypical African American Jazz singer?
Should You Watch This Movie?
Very small children will find it enjoyable but I would not consider it a classic like most Disney animated films.
