It is the year 2010; the worst ghettos have been sectioned of with concrete walls. The worst among them is District B-13 which is controlled by a crime lord named Taha. But a young man named Leito is not happy with what Taha is doing to the city and attempts to stop his reign.
Who is the Audience for This Movie?
Action movie fans.
What I Liked About This Movie
District B13 has a fantastic free running style opening that starts the movie at a brisk pace that keeps for most of the movies running time. The pacing is the best thing about this movie. It does not take itself too serious and only has short character/story setups that lead to the action scenes with sweet stunts. Stunt work in this movie can be likened to those seen in Jackie Chan movies; fast, real and furious.

Action is plentiful enough that even the biggest action fanatics will not have anything to complain about in that department of the movie. Acting is sub par but thankfully it does not get in the way of the movie still being very entertaining.
What Didn’t Work For Me
Since this a foreign movie that means that I had some reading to do throughout the movie which normally does not bother me. In this movie though the characters speak so fast it is really hard to follow what they are saying at times. There was a dubbed version of the movie on the disc I have but any self respecting movie fan does not watch a dubbed movie if they can help it.
I do like techno music because it creates a great atmosphere for action scenes but they chose some boringly generic tracks for this movies soundtrack. Only other thing I had an issue is that I had no emotional attachment to the characters. It definitely felt like the movies creators did not bother creating enough chemistry to really give the characters any real depth.
Should You Watch This Movie?
District B13 is a great action movie that I would highly recommend.
