12:08 East of Bucharest Review

Three men appear on a local television show to discuss and take calls from town’s people in order to get a definitive answer to the question “Did their town have a revolution?”

Who is the Audience for This Movie?

You can’t really narrow down the movie to any specific audience.

What I Liked About This Movie

12:08 East of Bucharest anchors the entire movie on the scenes involving the on air discussion. The shooting style during the discussion is very inventive due to the fact that it is purposely made to look like it was being shot by an amateur cameraman. You actually get the low budget television vibe from it. Discussions and conversations during the television show were well crafted. Characters interact in a casual but fitting manner leading to a few moments that are very funny. Every time someone calls into the show it is entertaining to watch/listen to the characters reactions.

What Didn’t Work For Me

Opening scenes are fairly dry with no real direction as to what there purposes are. I was fairly bored with the movie until the characters are actually on the television show.

12:08 East of Bucharest Review

The ending just kicks in with a voice over and seems like tacked on exposition which does not make sense since the rest of the movie made a point not to make its themes easily decipherable until that point.

Should You Watch This Movie?

It only had one very interesting section so I would have to say no it is not worth the effort.
