Who is the Audience for This Movie?

Kids who like colorful animation.

What I Liked About This Movie

Jerry Seinfeld starred in what many consider to be the funniest sitcom of all time. After Seinfeld ended though Jerry chose not to ride the shows success into a career in Hollywood. That is until 2007 when Bee Movie an animated kid’s movie written by and containing voice work from the famed comedian was released.

I was happy to see some new comedic material from Seinfeld. Unfortunately the only good thing I have to say about the actual movie is that visually it is a fantastic watch. Colors are extremely vibrant and the movie does contain some nicely animated sequences.

What Didn’t Work For Me

When you see that a movie is written by/starring Jerry Seinfeld it is quite logical to at worst expect a nice handful of laughs. That expectation was sorely not met leaving me confused as to what went wrong in the production of this feature. That is not to say I did not laugh at all because I did chuckle a few times but not enough to warrant any praise for the comedy on display. The Story is also not very engaging and even little kids will bore of this movie very fast. Having replay value is an important factor when it comes to animated kids movies.

Should You Watch This Movie?

If you have very small kids they may mildly enjoy it on first viewing but it will not be one of those movies they watch often.
