On this mission, James Bond (Sean Connery) purposefully falls for a trap set by the evil SPECTRE organization in order to retrieve a stolen Soviet encryption device.

Who is the Audience for This Movie?

People who like spy movies.

What I Liked About This Movie

From Russia with Love, like every Bond movie, has slick slightly hot opening credits. Sean Connery has always had a slick personality on camera but as Bond he is a downright pimp.

What Didn’t Work For Me

I was expecting the movie to start with a bang but instead they used a scene that contains a lackluster twist. To further disconnect me from being entertained the movie then moves on to a scene involving chess which is in no way tense and serves no purpose to the movies plot.

From Russia With Love Photo

After the lackluster opening I mentally wiped the slate clean to ensure that I would not hold it against the rest of the movie. With an uninteresting nemesis, poorly choreographed fight, and boring dialogue it was hard for me to enjoy myself while watching From Russia with Love. I was bored through most of the scenes which was kind surprising because I was expecting to at least be entertained.

The movies title always needs to be said or displayed in a Bond movie somehow; in this one bond writes it on a photo of a Russian girl for no reason. It was not corny or funny it was downright lame.

Should You Watch This Movie?
