Mad Max Review

A biker gang is terrorizing innocent people and the only person who can stop them is police officer ‘Mad’ Max Rockatansky (Mel Gibson).

Who is the Audience for This Movie?

People who like movies with vehicle related action.

What I Liked About This Movie

Oddly enough I saw this before after seeing the two sequels (The Road Warrior, Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome). It is kind of shame I did because it does add a lot of depth to Mad Max’s character.

Mad Max Photo

To sum up the movie for those who are not a fan of reading a lot; Mad Max is a tightly wound adrenaline fueled car chase movie with Gibson at his highest level of cool. With interesting looking vehicles, entertainingly campy acting/dialogue and believably crazy bad guys Mad Max is a blast to watch.

What Didn’t Work For Me

A few of the dramatic scenes are neither tense nor heartfelt. They are shot well, it’s the unfittingly over dramatic music that really kills them. The music should have been a lot more subtle. Another problem I had was the editing. It felt like they were trying to inject some unnecessary character development by editing in a few scenes that were not detrimental to the story.

Should You Watch This Movie?

I highly recommend you watch Mad Max.
