What I Liked About This Movie

I remember being disappointed with The World is Not Enough when I saw it in theaters. Thinking back, I now see that my expectations of it were too high. Upon viewing it again I realize that it is still not a good movie but it does contain some solid action scenes.

The World is Not Enough Photo

The first 15 minutes contains two of the best action scenes in the movie. One involves an escape from a building and the other is a kick ass jet boat chase. Later in the movie there is a decent ski chase scene that is almost as good as the first two action setups. Obviously being a Bond movie there has to be a lot of guns/explosions and boy is there ever some big explosions. That may not really sum up the movie too well it’s just that I feel the action is the only good thing about the movie.

What Didn’t Work For Me

Denise Richards plays a scientist with a doctorate AHAHAHAHAH. But seriously, the plot in this movie is highly uninteresting. Whenever story parts are on screen you will be impatiently waiting for the action to start again. When it does start it attempts to be quite serious. The problem with that is that the movie does not have the needed tension to support it. Near the end a twist is thrown into the mix that many people will see coming way before it happens. Adding on to those issues is the simple fact that the villain is not really cool or menacing.

On another note, a part of me cried on the inside during the scene where they saw a BMW in half.

Should You Watch This Movie?

Only if you are looking for some mindless action.
