Who is the Audience for This Movie?
People who like scary sci-fi movies.
What I Liked About This Movie
Should probably get this out of the way at the start of the review; Sigourney Weaver kicks ass. It is not often you see a movie in which a soft spoken female character ends up turning into the hero. Fortunately for us the viewers not only does she evolve from a pessimistic character to the most captivating female lead in sci-fi history but she also happens to look good while doing it.

Alien follows a very strict structure in which a long time is spent leading up to a briefly scary moment. It is so perfectly on point with its scares that even after the numerous times I have seen Alien it is still as shocking as the first time I saw it. I think the main reason that it does work so effectively is because of its score/sound effects. The score/sound effects so clearly define the movies mood that even if you were not looking at the screen you would probably still be affected by what’s going on.
What Didn’t Work For Me
