Who is the Audience for This Movie?

Futurama fans and fans of shows like The Simpsons & Family Guy.

What I Liked About This Movie

It is no secret that Futurama has always been thoroughly aimed towards geeks so a Dungeons & Dragons themed outing makes perfect sense. With that said Benders Game is an all out geekfest packed with references to fantasy movies and of course D&D. I would consider myself a geek and even though I have never played D&D but I did enjoy its inclusion in Benders Game. There are some laugh-out-loud moments in this movie that are a welcome addition to the minor jokes that are always present.

What Didn’t Work For Me

The Futurama creators have clearly tried to turn up the ridiculousness of their plotlines (which is nice) with every passing direct to video release.

This time around though I think they went a little too far. You could somewhat make sense of what happens during the movie but the thing I like most about Futurama is that its stories take always take strange routes while staying somewhat realistic to the confines of its universe. It was simply too random for my liking.

Should You Watch This Movie?

Although it is not as strong as the previous two Futurama movies (Benders Big Score, Beast With a Billion Backs ) it is still worth watching.
