Who is the Audience for This Movie?

People interested in learning more about how really Wal-Mart operates.

What I Liked About This Movie

Rather then using experts or people that have studied Wal-Mart they talk mostly to former employees. I really liked this approach because the people they were talking to had real stories/information to tell. Of course they also talk to businesses affected by Wal-Mart but the former employees were the most interesting to listen to.

Wal-Mart: The High Cost of Low Prices Photo

It is nice to see a movie that has its heart is in the right place. Focusing mostly on the little people that are affected I did feel that there was a need for a documentary like this to exist.

What Didn’t Work For Me

Structurally, this movie is a mess. Starting off by looking at a company in a small town before/after a Wal-Mart was nice it’s too bad though that it shifts to something completely different almost immediately after. This mish mash of topics being discussed is present through the entire movie. As for the presentation the graphics used are very amateurish. Slideshows of images are used quite often and text overlay on graphics could have been a lot more dynamic.

Should You Watch This Movie?
