Six months after a virus outbreak in Great Britain the U.S. army helps secure a small area of London for survivors to begin repopulating. Since this is a horror movie something goes terribly wrong and the virus begins to spread amongst the survivors.
Who is the Audience for This Movie?
Fans of zombie movies.
What I Liked About This Movie
28 Weeks Later has an absolutely fantastic opening. Within the span of 10 minutes it departs from the common horror pitfalls by going against two common ploys that are always used in horror movies. I do not want spoil it for you but you will be saying to yourself “No Waaaay” when the moment happens during the movies opening.
What Didn’t Work For Me
After the opening I was pumped for what lay ahead. Both tonally and visually the movie moves into a completely different direction after the grisly setup. A few minutes after the switch I decided to just accept that they made some changes to the original movies (28 Days Later) formula. Even with my mind set on accepting change the horrible setup for the rest of the movie lead to lame twists that had me rolling my eyes way too often.

I hate to use this type of statement but they really should have stuck with the style and story tone that was used in 28 Days Later. Everything about this movie felt too over produced to give it any sort of genuine feeling. The person I was watching it with who happens to be way easier on movies then me felt supremely disappointed by it also.
Should You Watch This Movie?
Watch the opening and skim through the rest of it.
