After their parents get married two unemployed middle aged men (Will Ferrell, John C. Reilly) who still live at home are forced to live in the same house.

Who is the Audience for This Movie?

People who like quirky comedies.

What I Liked About This Movie

Step Brothers takes only 7 minutes to set up the premise. Throwing you into jokes as fast as they possibly could was a great move. Ferrell and Reilly were previously paired together in the hilarious Talladega Nights and once again they have really good comedic chemistry together. I do not know if this is a compliment or not but the two comedians play very believable man children too well.

You are most likely wanting to know if it is funny or not. I can happily say that Step Brothers is consistently funny and brings the comedy even while the credits are rolling. One scene in particular involves t-bagging and a drum set. It is best if I leave the connection between the two to your imagination.

What Didn’t Work For Me

Step Brothers felt a bit long winded. I think they should have cut the run time down marginally and cut out some of the weaker jokes to streamline the movie more. As you would expect there is a moment in the movie the two men realize that they need to grow up and the realization section of the plot was handled a little clumsily.

Should You Watch This Movie?

If you are looking for a solid comedy you cannot go wrong with Step Brothers.
