Who is the Audience for This Movie?

Fans of dark comedies.

What I Liked About This Movie

The most notable thing about this movie is that the casting choices were excellent. All of the actors do their best with the material they were given. Out of all the actors though Brad Pitt is the most memorable his outfits alone makes his character stick in your mind long after the movie was over.

What Didn’t Work For Me

After a best picture winning movie (No Country for Old Men) why would you do a comedy? On top of that why would make one that is so gloomy. When I had finished the movie I counted only a handful of times I actually laughed. The dialogue while clever just never managed to hit many high notes.

Tone wise it is all over the map. There are moments of slapstick, violence, and seriousness yet never once does the movie try to stick to one long enough. This left me feeling unfulfilled when the consequences for the characters actions finally come to fruition.

Should You Watch This Movie?

Unless you absolutely must watch every Coen Brothers movie do not bother.
