Who is the Audience for This Movie?
Fans of stoner comedies.
What I Liked About This Movie
Stoner comedies are probably the one type of movie that still manages to hold the exact same resonance it did when they first came out years ago. Their entire purpose is to make jokes that are wacky and put the characters in odd situations. On that level Pineapple Express fully succeeds. There were a load genuinely funny jokes that really hit their mark. Seth Rogen is always a likable character and James Franco really surprised with how well he can play a stoner. Their misadventures together are quite enjoyable until the third act.
What Didn’t Work For Me
The third act takes a turn into action parody territory. At that moment I was quite confused as to why it would take that turn after it had been going so solid. The only reasoning that I could muster is that its purpose is to give off the same vibe you get when marijuana’s effect wears off. It’s all fun and games then it is back to reality which is not a cool move to pull on the audience.

I will be honest I watched it after having a couple of drinks because I do not drugs and it was a major buzz kill to end the movie that way.
Should You Watch This Movie?
Part of me enjoyed this movie part of me didn’t so I guess it is kind of toss up if you will like it.
