What I Liked About This Movie
With a 75 minute running time the movie is over quite quickly.
What Didn’t Work For Me
Like the length of the movie I will make this short unlike the movie though I will this painless. Spoofing over the years has had its fair share of stinkers which is kind of sad. It is a genre that needs to be handled with great care in order to not come off insanely dumb.
The creators of Superhero Movie obviously made the decision early on its development that completely following the first Spiderman movies story would be comedy gold. I guess being completely unoriginal was exactly what they were going for. Maybe it’s because it was so popular they thought that even people who barely watch movies would get all the references and feel clever for knowing them. On top of that they intentionally inject already dated pop culture jokes that were wholly unnecessary.
What is less funny then a funeral? Take a guess (it even has a funeral scene).
Should You Watch This Movie?
If you really want to watch a spoof movie do yourself a favor by seeking out “Airplane” so you can experience a spoof movie that is actually good.
