Hell Ride Review

Normally I would write a quick concise synopsis but I am unsure if their really is a plot to be found in this movie.

Who is the Audience for This Movie?

I am not sure if there is an audience that will enjoy this movie.

What I Liked About This Movie

Not a thing.

What Didn’t Work For Me

I really did not want to be so harsh on Hell Ride it is just so awful that it seems like it has no reason to take up your viewing time. Maybe I should explain my stance a bit. Much like many direct to video movies Hell Ride steals much of its style from other movies. It’s no wonder Tarantino put his name on as a presenter of it because it pretty much rides his style the whole time stopping only to copy elements from Easy Rider and Robert Rodriguez movies.

You could say the reasoning behind the complete lack of originality is the fact that the director not only wrote the movie he even starred as the lead role. This tactic worked quite well for Orsen Welles but Larry Bishop is no Welles. It’s a shame he felt he needed to put his mug in front of the camera as much as possible because the cast is fairly interesting. If the lead role had been played by Michael Madsen, Vinnie Jones, or Dennis Hopper this movie would have been at least a step above horrible.

To convince you to not watch this movie some more I will say this is one of the first movies in a long time that after it ended I had no clue of what it was about. There is no real purpose to everything that happens and it ends with a few of the characters riding off in different directions on motorbikes. When it ended I turned to the person I was watching it with a puzzled look only to find that he was just as confused as I was.

Should You Watch This Movie?
