Who is the Audience for This Movie?
People who like spy movies.
What I Liked About This Movie
Moonraker is the first Roger Moore bond movie I have watched. In comparison to the other actors who have played the character he definitely holds down the part quite well with a touch of campiness that keeps the character from being overly brooding.
One thing that really kept sticking out in my mind was how well the movie was shot. Most bond movies focus more ensuring there is enough action and sexual innuendos but Moonraker has some impressive shots in it. Speaking of impressive the bond girl this time around is named “Dr.Goodhead” here name fits well with her appearance.
What Didn’t Work For Me
How many times in one movie does bond need to have his life in danger? Doing it a few times is alright after that you are just beating a dead horse. It also does not help that a few of the attempts on his life are incredibly lame. Spreading the story across a few different locations may shave seemed like a cool idea on paper but after a while it begins to get quite tiresome. This leads the story to a tiresome tone that it gets firmly stuck with around the half way point.

The main bad guy is menacing it’s just too bad his evil henchman Jaws is poorly handled. Aesthetically he is quite interesting his character progression and motives are just weakly developed. This would normally not be a complaint for a Bond movie but they deliberately try to give Jaws minor character development throughout the movie.
Mostly though I found that the ending crushed any remnants of believability the movie had. I was laughing my ass off through much of it. I do not want to ruin it for those of you who still want to see Moonraker; I will just say it involves a laser battle in space.
Should You Watch This Movie?
It’s not really worth watching unless you are a die hard James Bond fan.
