Half Baked Review

After one of their friends accidentally kills an on duty police horse three friends decide to sell weed to make the bail money.

Who is the Audience for This Movie?

Fans of stoner comedies.

What I Liked About This Movie

“We all live together in New York. I myself am a master of the custodial arts; or a janitor, if you wanna be a dick about it.” From the get go Half Baked is fully aware of the audience and revels in its numerous fourth wall breaking moments. Since Dave Chappelle’s character Thurgood Jenkins is the lead he does the voice-overs that pop up quite often. This ploy ends up working perfectly every time because it opens up a lot of comedic situations that would not fit in a normally structured comedy. For example: At one point Dave breaks down the different types of smokers and the audience is treated to cameos from Jon Stewart, Snoop Dogg, Stephen Baldwin & Willie Nelson. Jon Stewarts cameo is definitely one of the funniest parts of the movie.

Half Baked Photo

I remember watching Half Baked numerous times when I was younger and laughing my ass off every single time I watched it. When I watched it to finally put up a review of it I ended up once again laughing in almost every scene. If you even remotely like stoner comedies you will be laughing a lot during this movie.

What Didn’t Work For Me
