Who is the Audience for This Movie?

People who like revenge movies.

What I Liked About This Movie

Most action movies seem to have problems quickly developing their characters. Taken is a great example of a movie that takes a few minutes to give you a clear idea of all of their motivations, mannerisms and relationships. As an avid movie watcher that is a bonus but the main reason most people watch a movie like Taken is because the “Don’t mess with family” type of movie has a special place in the hearts of movie goers. It is something everyone can relate too and it’s satisfying to watch.

Liam Neeson plays his role quite well. His voice is so ridiculously cool he could read a cereal box and make it sound dramatic without even really trying. He is not the first person I would have expected to play this type of role well but when ish hits the fan he f’s ish up (trying to keep this blog somewhat clean). Even though you can forecast the ending it is still pretty bad ass. Taken does not outstay its welcome and delivers everything you would expect from a revenge flick.

What Didn’t Work For Me

Obviously since the movie is named Taken it centers on kidnapping but the set up for the actual kidnapping happens awfully fast. As soon as the daughter of the main character gets to where she is staying she is taken. Even though her character is developed properly before it happens there are just a few scenes earlier in the movie involving the father guarding a pop star that could have been cut out to make the set off point a little smoother.

Should You Watch This Movie?

Definitely, if you are looking for action movie to watch with a few people Taken would be a good choice.
