Benjamin Button follows the life of a man (Brad Pitt) who ages backwards.

Who is the Audience for This Movie?

People who like movies that chronicle the entirety of a characters life.

What I Liked About This Movie

David Fincher is known for his dark themed style of shooting and for the most part he stuck with it for Benjamin Button. What surprised me though is how remarkably well it blended with the dramatic tone of the movie. Brad Pitt has been in many good movies over the years but I find that his dramatic roles tend to be his strongest. Pitt’s handling of the backwards aging character is a joy to watch. His facial movement and dialogue delivery always match up perfectly with the age he is portraying. To help sell the aging process the makeup/special effects on display are so spot on that you won’t feel the need to continually analyze them.

The Curious Case of Benjamin Button Photo

The sheer scope of Benjamin Button is nothing short of epic. Through the course of the movie you are treated to a smorgasbord of different locations and situations with all of them being equally as interesting. Benjamin’s life is not guided by his actions instead it’s the people he meets along the way that shape the man he becomes. From the start of the movie there are two stories at play. The main story is the life of Benjamin the other involves a young lady telling Benjamin’s story to her dying mother. Eventually both intertwine and lead to a highly satisfying payoff. Best of all, in the end this somewhat tragic movie is still heart warming.

What Didn’t Work For Me
