What I Liked About This Movie
Eden Lake successfully succeeds at making the clear distinction between the good/bad characters. A lot of time is spent with the romantic couple so you really get to know them before the evil teenagers come into the picture. When they do show up my blood was boiling because they reminded me of High School and the idiots who act like they can do whatever they want with no repercussions.
What Didn’t Work For Me
Everything after the set off point. Unfortunately, Eden Lake is one movie I cannot review without completely spoiling it so if you do not want it spoiled I am warning you now to stop reading this review because I will be outlining everything that happens below.

After a little tiff the teens steal the couple’s jeep. When the couple catches up with the teens their dog is accidentally killed so unlike a normal rational human being the teens natural response is to chase them down to kill them. The woman gets away but the husband is not so lucky and is tied to a post and is brutally tortured. The women after hiding in the bushes ALL NIGHT decides to go check on her husband instead of going to find help. Of course that then starts off a long string of scenes that involve the teens chasing her down. Oh yah, the husband also dies. After a series of illogical events she gets revenge and manages to kill a few of them. She then escapes in a vehicle towards town but only makes it as far as the nearest home. What she then finds out is that it is the home of one of the teens and the parents of all the kids she killed are there partying. The last remaining teen comes home to tell the parents what happened and the parents then decide to kill the women to cover it up. There are no repercussions for the vile acts the teen has committed YAAAAAAAAY AWESOME.
The makers of this movie should be utterly ashamed of themselves. All of the violence is used for exploitive sake (which can sometimes be cool) but teamed with the terrible moral center it left me incredibly pissed off. Many of the reviews I read before watching this movie were very positive which to me says a lot about our society. You may be thinking “oh he is just a square gore upsets him” to those people I would say I saw Dead-Alive at age 12 and to this day I still think it is an insanely awesome movie.
Should You Watch This Movie?
