What I Liked About This Movie
“It’s funny how the colors of the real world only seem really real when you viddy them on the screen”
No review could sum up this movie better then the above quote from the main character Alex. Released in 1972 and directed by Stanley Kubrick Clockwork Orange was incredibly controversial for its graphic violence and haunting portrayal of sadistic youth. Your enjoyment of Clockwork Orange depends wholly on how you interpret it. No clear lines are drawn to tell you how to feel because the narrator is also the villainous main character. Many of the scenes are tough to watch but the movies purpose is not to dwell on those moments but to get you to question the nature of evil people.

Malcolm McDowell’s acting is sublime and it is no wonder he plays a lot of bad guys in movies. His character Alex is pure evil and the movie never dismisses that fact for a moment. What makes the movie more interesting though is the direction it takes when it during and after the government experiment scenes. The eternal question if evil people can be reformed is put to the forefront. On top of all that it has an incredibly unique aesthetic and a haunting score.
What Didn’t Work For Me
Nothing.
Should You Watch This Movie?
If you can handle the harsh scenes you will really enjoy the character depth in this classic movie.
