Douglas Quad (Arnold Schwarzenegger) decides he wants to take a virtual vacation to mars as a spy but something goes wrong with the computer equipment and it sets in motion a complex series of events that put his life in danger.

What I Liked About This Movie
Arnold Schwarzenegger punches out Sharon Stone, meets a chick with three boobs, and at one point dresses like a fat lady; what more could you want?. I guess you could argue it needs a good story, cool special effects, and lots of action; it just so happens to meet those pre-requisites also.
Directed by Paul Verhoeven (Robocop, Starship Troopers) Total Recall is sort of an anomaly for Arnold most of his movies contain a lot of action but it is never as hard edged as it is in this movie. When people get shot, THEY GOT SHOT, blood flies everywhere and it is extremely violent. The rough feeling from the violence carries over to the story as well. From the get go everything seems to go wrong for Douglas Quad and even in the end after all that transpires you are still let wondering if everything we see in the movie is all part of his vacation or if he actually had the adventure of a life time. To top off its nice execution, the special and makeup effects implemented are very believable.
What Didn’t Work For Me
There are a few too many plot twists.

Total Recall is a must watch for fans of Sci-Fi movies.
