What I Liked About This Movie

Calling Harvey Keitel’s character in Bad Lieutenant corrupt is the nicest thing you could say about him. Not only does he deal on both sides of the law he is also happens to be a drug addict, alcoholic, womanizer, degenerate gambler, and a terrible father figure.

There is no redeeming characteristic to him and the movie is better for it. The director does give Keitel one scene to let out all of his inner demons but does not try to make you sympathize for him. Keitel goes through a wide range of emotions during the movie and you can tell in every scene he is using all the acting talent he has (he is quite talented too).

What Didn’t Work For Me

I really could have done without the whole Harvey Keitel completely naked scene it was very off-putting. There are also a few too many “look, he takes drugs” scenes.

Should You Watch This Movie?

If you can deal with its difficult subject matter you should enjoy it.
