Fans of spy movies.

What I Liked About This Movie

Duplicity is a tightly wound clever movie that manages to have Julia Roberts in it and not use cheap dramatic tricks. Clive Owen as usual plays a sauvé character who can outwit anyone who gets in his way but Julia Robert’s character manages to keep pace with him. Their dialogue exchanges are fast and jam packed with cheeky humor.

The plots true purpose and outcome unfold via time jumping. Duplicity handles the drastic time changes very clearly for most of the movie. By the time everything is explained even though there have been many revelations a few key pieces to the puzzle are revealed and you will be pleasantly surprised by the outcome. The last lines spoken in the movie made me smirk.

What Didn’t Work For Me

For a large portion of the movies beginning it totally leaves you in the dark as to what is going on. I don’t mind when some details are withheld it is not overly fun though when what is going on is really unclear.

Should You Watch This Movie?

I rented it because I needed a movie to watch with someone who doesn’t have the same taste in movies I do. They liked that Julia Roberts was in it and since Clive Owen was in it I knew it was most likely not a terrible chick flick.
