After accidentally traveling back in time two scientists (Will Ferrell, Anna Friel) and a tag along (Danny McBride) must find a way to get back to their own time.
Who is the Audience for This Movie?
Fans of time travel movies.
What I Liked About This Movie
I don’t know why but I seem to eventually watch every movie Will Ferrell is in even though he plays the same type of character in almost every role. Land of the Lost puts his man-child persona on display in a different setting so I guess that’s a plus.
What Didn’t Work For Me
After finishing this movie all I could think about was how poorly developed its structure is. I felt bad for whoever’s money was wasted on the impressive special effects. The movie starts out with Will Ferrell’s character being interviewed by Matt Lauer and right from the start you will get that gut feeling that the entire purpose of Land of the Lost is to show how zany it can be at the expense of proper story progression. After the awkward opening the story does gets kick started fairly quickly which was nice but almost immediately after it gets started it begins side tracking itself with useless distractions that are rarely funny.

At no point does it feel like a cohesive movie there are even weird scene jumps. At first I thought it was due to the movie skipping but after double checking it I guess the editor of the movie cared as little as the writers did.
Should You Watch This Movie?
Land of the Lost is as much of a time waster as it was a money waster.
