Who is the Audience for This Movie?

People who like movies that are primarily focused on getting ooohs and ahhhs from the viewer.

What I Liked About This Movie

For a 160 minute movie Avatar flies by. The pacing is so incredibly fast I do not think I looked away from the screen once Avatar grabs your attention immediately and does not let it go until it’s over.

Obviously the main draw to this movie is the revolutionary 3-D technology that was created in order to make the movie possible. In short, it is like no other movie you have ever seen you this may seem lame to say but you feel like you’re actually in the world of Avatar. What a world it is, not only did they make it lush and unique they made up an entire language along with history/customs for a race that is unlike any other I have ever seen in a sci-fi movie. The expense that was put into crafting both the effects and the world of avatar shows in all of the small details. In retrospect it was mind blowing.

The action is always in your face and there are a few scenes that could be shown to anyone to clearly define the word “epic”. All in all though the action adds more excitement to the wonderment of visiting the world of Avatar but it’s not the movies sole purpose.

What Didn’t Work For Me

There are some obvious nitpicks you could point out but to be perfectly honest Avatar achieves everything it wants to so you get the perfect one time theater experience.

Should You Watch This Movie?

Avatar needs to be seen once in the theater I cannot see myself anxiously waiting to see it again though. I do hope they make an Avatar 2.
