What I Liked About This Movie

Animated movies tend to have colorful and kooky characters with an upbeat story to match them. 9 is a maturely styled animated movie due to its stark downbeat visuals and bleak story. In saying that I actually liked the direction it takes there are very few animated movies aimed towards adults. The world they created for the movie sure is dark but the interesting characters give it a lot of life. All “9” of the dolls have unique personalities and archetypes that meld together well.

What Didn’t Work For Me

Even though there is quite a bit of action it all seems uninteresting.

The whole time I kept thinking how much cooler it would have been if I were able to play the scenes in the movie. I know they released a game along with the movie but if they put the effort they put into the movie into making it a game it would have been incredible. I really liked the characters at no point though was I drawn into the movie enough to sympathize with them. I just felt like a spectator wanting more.

Should You Watch This Movie?

I personally found it a boring experience.
