What I Liked About This Movie

I am not a metal fan. Why I decided to watch this movie I do not know but I am glad I did. Depending on your taste in music you will either think the music crap or alright personally I didn’t watch it for the music the story of the band is what interested me.

Right off the bat its obvious the two original band members even in their 50’s still have aspirations to be stars and you cannot help but feel for them. Throughout the movie there are numerous examples of the bands horrible luck. Whether it be not getting paid for a show or playing a show for only 10 people. The band goes to a plethora of different locations all over the world which is nice because most documentaries are usually restricted in terms of location. Regardless of what you think of their music by the end you really understand their dream and their dedication to it.

What Didn’t Work For Me

The story of Anvil is mostly downbeat it needed more comedic elements. They are a metal band after all. You may be turned off by its sheer seriousness.
