Who is the Audience for This Movie?

People who like war dramas.

What I Liked About This Movie

The Hurt Locker really draws you in early and stays tense throughout.

The Hurt Locker Photo

Even when the bomb squad members are at the barracks sharing their life stories the tension doesn’t waver. When the action does start in comparison to full scale war movies it feels very scaled down which ends up working in the movies favor. Instead of being hit by an onslaught of enemies you are sort of tricked into thinking everyone they see could potentially be there enemy. What drove the movie home for me was the last few minutes. All the bomb diffusing is awesomely crafted but up until the last few minutes I felt there were a lot of useless moments added to the movie that were not very meaningful. The final few scenes are incredibly moving and tie the movies numerous plot points together perfectly; they are also pretty bad ass.

What Didn’t Work For Me

One of the members of the squad gets very little character development.

Should You Watch This Movie?
