What I Liked About This Movie

The visual style of the movie looks exactly like a low budget 70’s movie.

It could not have been easy to make the movie look how it does. To go along with the visuals the movies structure and storyline cleverly mimic’s those found in blaxploitation movies. I found the editing to be particularly funny because at many points scenes just end with little to no transition. I enjoyed spotting all the in-jokes for movie geeks and there are a few moments that are downright hilarious that come almost out of nowhere.

What Didn’t Work For Me

Black Dynamite suffers from the same issue I find many spoof movies does; it’s more clever then funny. There were many instances where I had to smile at there referencing but I can count on one hand the number of times I actually laughed out loud.

Should You Watch This Movie?

If you have seen a few 70’s blaxploitation movies you will get a kick out of this movie.
