[rec]2 Review

[rec] 2 takes place right after the events of [rec]. This time around a SWAT team along with a medical officer is sent into control the situation in the infected apartment building.

Who is the Audience for This Movie?

Fans of found footage style horror movies.

What I Liked About This Movie

[rec] 2 achieves what every horror sequel aspires to. It offers people who like the original more depth to the events that took place in it and amps up the horror. [rec] was a fantastic roller coaster ride style movie but the one thing you could possibly knock it for was not having any explanation of how the infection started. [rec] 2 picks up minutes after the first movie and in no time at all gives a believable enough back story to [rec]. Fans of the first will be very pleased with the subtle nods to events in the first one. What is most impressive though is how little wasted time there is before the movies action takes off.

[rec]2 Photo

Unlike most found footage movies [rec] 2 ends up using multiple cameras. The SWAT team all has cameras on their helmets and mid way another camera is introduced. Changing up the cameras keeps the movie from having to rely on the same perspective keeping it fresh throughout. I am not going to ruin anything so I will just end this review by saying you will be on the edge of your seat while watching [rec] 2.

What Didn’t Work For Me

Nothing.

Should You Watch This Movie?

Totally, just make sure you watch [rec] first. I recommend you watch both back to back.
