Who is the Audience for This Movie?

Fans of over the top action movies.

What I Liked About This Movie

There are a few short appearances by the actor who plays Ricky on the Canadian TV show The Trailer Park Boys.

What Didn’t Work For Me

All Saints Day feels like an amalgamation of all the terrible aspects of popular action movies. Its first misstep is the inclusion of comedy I’m sure the directors think they are hilarious people but they truly aren’t. Out of the many punch lines the main characters fire off the two people and I who watched this movie laughed maybe 3 times…maybe. It doesn’t help that much of the comedy is on display moments after they attempt to be dramatic.

So it got off to a bad start so I tuned out the jokes and focused on story and characters. Like many action movies All Saints Day has a multitude of change ups and twists. What the directors didn’t plan for however was a decision of when to stop throwing in twists. By the time the final one was revealed I straight up didn’t care anymore about anything that was going on because the story had been so diluted by that point. I will admit the characters do have some charm I just couldn’t get past their atrocious fake accents.

Characters, story and comedy failed what about the editing and action you say…well they suck too. I like me some stylized action but stylizing it to extreme is never good it felt like I was watching slow motion replays of the action instead of being thrust into it. As for the editing I get that it was intentionally bad in places it just did nothing for me and took away more then added to the movie.

Unfortunately the ending leaves a huge opening for a third movie.

Should You Watch This Movie?

Please don’t, it would just encourage people to make more terrible movies like it.
