As their owner Andy is packing up for college his beloved toys are accidentally taken out to the trash instead of being put in the attic.

What I Liked About This Movie
I saw the original Toy Story in the theatres with my mom and I found it fitting that I went and saw the end of the trilogy with her as well. When I first heard about a third movie being made I was a little worried that they wouldn’t be able to top the first two. I am happy to say that at first I was still worried but by the end Toy Story 3 won me over.

What made it resonate with me was the fact that the only real way to end this franchise was to deal with the fact that Andy was at some point going to be too old for his toys. As a kid you don’t even think about being done with your old toys you moved on to big boy things and never looked back. Seeing the characters that the majority of the people I knew grew up watching go through the worst moment of their lives was heartbreaking. Human beings experience that same moment at some point in their life. Oh yah this is also a kids movie.
Being a kids movie it needs to move beyond its sad moments and provide colorful scenes, new characters and plenty of action. Toy Story 3 has those elements locked down it heavily utilized them in the first two and once again it uses them to perfection. The new characters have plenty of personality and bring along with them new settings that feel fresh. The one thing I couldn’t shake is that the Toy Story world still holds a sense of wonder you only have when you’re younger; watching this movie was like being a kid again for 90 minutes.
There is a huge sense of finalization in the movies last few sadly inspirational moments which made me smile. It was nice to see a beloved franchise end on such a strong note. I would go as far as to say Toy Story 3 is the best movie in the trilogy.
Oh and my mom liked it too she almost cried at the end.
