What I Liked About This Movie
Being a fan of movies based off Saturday Night Live characters (The Ladies Man, Night at The Roxbury) I have seen my fair share of terrible ones. With that said MacGruber was waaay funnier then I ever expected to be there are so many laugh-out-loud moments its ridiculous. Like any great comedy it has its fair share of solid recurring jokes as well.
Stretching a minute long skit into an entire movie had to have been a daunting task from the start but I think they succeeded far beyond what 90% of the people who found the skit funny were expecting. Not only is it funny it’s also a great parody of action movies and has plenty of violence.
What Didn’t Work For Me
At times MacGruber is incredibly stupid Will Forte takes the character way to far on a few occasions and sucks the comedy out of a few scenes. If you’re a person who cannot be intellectually picky for 90s minutes then you will not enjoy this movie in any way.
Should You Watch This Movie?
It’s funny, so yes.
