Buried Review

A U.S. contractor (Ryan Reynolds) wakes up buried in a coffin with a cell phone and lighter.

Who is the Audience for This Movie?

Anyone who likes thrillers.

What I Liked About This Movie

It may seem like Buried would be boring as hell considering it all takes place in a coffin and only has one character on screen the entire running time but buried pleasantly surprised me. From a technical standpoint they definitely found ways to interestingly frame Reynolds and the inside of the coffin and kept the movie visually appealing for 90 minutes. Reynolds holds down a single character movie a lot better then I thought he could he is usually stuck in movies where he plays the “sarcastic guy” it was nice to see him in role that utilized his acting ability. There are plenty of twists and turns throughout the movie and the ending is strong.

Buried Photo

Buried is essentially a cinematic experiment (in a good way).

What Didn’t Work For Me

After finishing Buried I have no reason to ever watch it again. It is definitely a one time viewing movie.

Should You Watch This Movie?
