Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps Review
Young Wall Street trader Jake Moore (Shia LaBeouf) decides to propose to his girlfriend (Carey Mulligan) but first feels the need to ask her recently released from prison father Gordan Gecko (Michael Douglas) for his permission. Unfortunately, Jake gets more then just his permission.

Who is the Audience for This Movie?

People who saw and liked the first Wall Street movie.

What I Liked About This Movie

It’s directed by Oliver Stone. The only reason I watched this movie is because he directed it. Stone has a very distinct style as a director and at worst you know the movie is going to precisely edited and will have fantastic camera work. This movie of course has both of those things but it also features strong performances from every cast member.

What Didn’t Work For Me

The relationship Jake forms with Gecko falls into to place way too easily. It almost felt like Jake immediately has a huge man crush on him and ends up acting on everything Gordan has to say. His character is supposed to be very smart but it sure doesn’t seem like it at numerous points in the movie.

Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps Photo

Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps has way too many different plots and ideas on display at any given time. They could have made three drastically different movies from all of their sub plots. It also doesn’t help that the movie intentionally telegraphs the ending for the viewer.

Should You Watch This Movie?

Even though I think Wall Street 2 has good elements I don’t recommend watching it.
