What I Liked About This Movie

It starts out very promising.

What Didn’t Work For Me

I don’t read comics. I did when I was younger but the super hero cartoons started becoming really awesome so I stuck to those instead. With that said I ADORE the superman animated series (almost as much as the 90’s batman animated series) and in my mind it utilizes the character perfectly.

Why did I bother saying all that? Because I was excited to finally get around to watching Superman Returns but unfortunately none of the qualities that draw my attention in the cartoon (like his inner struggle with power he possess) were carried over to this live action version of Superman. This movie is flat out boring its far too long and its take on Lex Luthor is laughable in comparison to the animated series. He is supposed to be an evil mastermind but his scheme in this movie is flat out dumb and to make matters worse superman doesn’t even fight anyone in this movie.

Should You Watch This Movie?

No. Superman Returns is a very bland movie.
