Who is the Audience for This Movie?
Fans of hip-hop music.
What I Liked About This Movie
As soon as saw in the opening credits that Madlib had his hands in the music selections and original pieces I was very surprised because he is not a household name but his influence really made this documentary feel like it was made for people who appreciate hip-hop music.

Considering A Tribe Called Quest’s musical impact as you would there are tons of short interviews with very prolific musical figures who end up lending a ton of credibility to this documentary. Famous musicians I expected but the director was allowed to document the ugly aspects of the relationship between the members of the Tribe. Not often do you get an uncensored look behind the curtain. There are nice moments and low points in their history so its fitting that the movie follows the same structure.
What Didn’t Work For Me
Near the end it starts to run out of steam and I think they could have easily cut out the section regarding Q-Tips new music it is not relevant to the story of the group at all.
Should You Watch This Movie?
Only if you really like hip-hop music.
